West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee today congratulated Pranab Mukherjee for his victory within the Presidential poll and stated she'll attend his promising in ceremony on this summer 25.
Trinamool Congress supremo and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee Sunday telephoned Pranab Mukherjee, who had been chosen as India's thirteenth President, to congratulate him and assured him she'd attend his promising-in this summer 25.
"Yes, Mamatadi had called up Pranabbabu after it became clear that he had won the presidential election. Pranabbabu thanked her and requested her to be present during the swearing in ceremony. Mamatadi has assured him she will be present during the ceremony," stated party Mega pixel Kunal Ghosh.
Mr. Mukherjee is going to be India's thirteenth President, authorities introduced Sunday, because the former finance minister easily entered the midway mark with 558,000 votes to secure his journey to Rashtrapati Bhavan.
His rival, former Lok Sabha speaker PA Sangma, was way behind with 239,966 votes as counting ongoing, Mr. Mukherjee's polling agent Pravin H Parikh told IANS. "He has crossed the halfway mark. He is the president-elect," Parikh stated.
Although the result was obvious, votes would continue being counted till all of the ballot boxes were opened up.
Ms. Banerjee had earlier opposed Mr Mukherjee's candidature for that top job coupled with suggested former president A.P.J. Abdul Kalam's reputation for the publish.
But after Mr. Kalam made the decision against contesting, Ms. Banerjee was mother on whom her party would back until she designed a dramatic u-turn and extended her support to M.R. Mukherjee.
